Sean Longstaff to snub Manchester United for Newcastle United stay?

Sean Longstaff is happy to stay at Newcastle United this summer despite interest from Manchester United, according to a report.

Sean Longstaff is reportedly prepared to turn his back on a move to Manchester United in order to stay with Newcastle United in this summer's transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are said to be keen on a summer deal for the 21-year-old, who made eight Premier League appearances last term before picking up a season-ending injury.

According to Sky Sports News, new Newcastle boss Steve Bruce will hold talks with the midfielder in the coming days and will signal that the Magpies are not willing to sell him.

The same report adds that while Longstaff would be open to talking to the Red Devils if a fee could be agreed, the Englishman will not push for a summer exit.

Newcastle are said to value the midfielder in the region of £50m, which is £30m more than United are prepared to pay for his services ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Bruce's team will face West Ham United in the Premier League Asia Trophy this weekend with both playing for third place following their semi-final defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City respectively.
