Liverpool reportedly reject the chance to sign Brighton & Hove Albion's Leandro Trossard, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.

Liverpool have reportedly passed up on the opportunity to sign Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard.

The Belgium international is enjoying his finest season in a Seagulls shirt yet, having amassed seven goals and three assists in 14 Premier League games under Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi.

Trossard's form is believed to have attracted the attention of Arsenal and Chelsea, with Potter keen to reunite with his former attacker at Stamford Bridge.

A recent report claimed that the Blues had already opened talks with Trossard over a move to the capital, and the 27-year-old is only contracted to Brighton until the end of the season.

The Seagulls do possess the option to extend his stay for another 12 months, but a fee of £30m could be enough for De Zerbi's side to consider parting ways.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs - via GIVEMESPORT - Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Trossard, but the Reds are not considering a deal at this moment in time.

"We'll have to wait and see whether [Manchester] United decide to look a little bit closer to home and see whether there's that shorter term and closer to home goalscorer that they might be able to attract," Jacobs said.

"We know, for example, that Trossard at Brighton is being put in the shop window by his agent. He's been offered to Manchester United, he's been offered to Liverpool and he's been offered to Chelsea. Liverpool are not interested.

"Manchester United haven't really bitten, but given the [Cristiano] Ronaldo situation, we have to wait and see if they consider a player like him, somebody gettable, somebody that is in good form and somebody that can just tide them over and continue the momentum that they're building under Erik ten Hag between now and the summer, at which point they can then come in for a big name."

Liverpool lost the likes of Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi over the summer, leading Jurgen Klopp to reinforce his attack with the signings of Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho.

The Reds could be in the market for a new attacker in 2023 if Roberto Firmino leaves the club on a free transfer, but Klopp has confirmed that talks are ongoing with the Brazilian over a new deal.

Brighton paid a fee of €15.6m (£13.5m) to sign Trossard from Genk in the summer of 2019, and the attacker has since amassed 25 goals and 14 assists in 118 appearances for the Premier League club.

Trossard was called up to Roberto Martinez's Belgium squad for the 2022 World Cup, but he has only appeared as a second-half substitute in both of the Red Devils' games so far.

The Brighton man came on for the final 28 minutes of his side's opening Group F win over Canada before playing 16 minutes in their shock 2-0 loss to Morocco on Sunday.

Trossard will be hoping to force his way into the starting lineup for Belgium's final group game against Croatia on Thursday, where Martinez's third-placed side need to win to progress to the last 16.
