Liverpool are reportedly not planning to move for Borussia Monchengladbach's Denis Zakaria despite the recent speculation surrounding the midfielder.
The 25-year-old's contract with his German club is due to expire at the end of June, and there have been suggestions that he could depart in a cut-price deal before the end of the January transfer window.
A recent report claimed that Liverpool were among the front-runners for the Switzerland international, with the Reds ahead of Manchester United in the race for his signature.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp's side have no interest in bringing the Swiss to Anfield before the end of the winter transfer window.
The report claims that the return to fitness of a number of first-team midfielders means that the club are not planning to bring in another player in that area of the field this month.
Zakaria - also linked with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund - has scored twice and registered one assist in 18 appearances at club level during the 2021-22 campaign.
