La Liga outfit Getafe have signed Mason Greenwood on loan from Manchester United for the 2023-24 campaign in the final stages of the summer window.
Last month, Man United announced that the 21-year-old's time at the club was over, but the forward has another two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.
A permanent exit this summer was always believed to be unlikely due to the sensitive situation, but a loan move for the England international has been secured in the final stages of the market.
In January 2022, following accusations from a woman, Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
Greenwood was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but there is no longer a case against him, so he is free to resume his career this season.

A potential move to Lazio on deadline day broke down, but he has now secured a move to La Liga side Getafe.
Before his arrest, Greenwood was regarded as one of the best young players in world football, and he has represented the Red Devils on 129 occasions, scoring 35 goals and registering 12 assists.
Getafe are believed to have been the only team in for the forward in the closing stages of the window.
Greenwood had been linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League, but it soon became clear that clubs in the division had decided against making a move.
"Mason Greenwood has signed for Getafe on a season-long loan. The move enables Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from MUFC. The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition," read a statement from Man United.
The Englishman has not played a competitive match since January 2022, so it is likely to be some time before he is ready to make his debut for the La Liga side.
