David de Gea refutes Manchester United exit rumours

David de Gea suggests that he intends to keep his place at Manchester United, despite reports linking the club with a move for Stoke City's Asmir Begovic.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has suggested that he will not be shown the door at Old Trafford in the summer.

The future of the Spaniard has been questioned in recent weeks following reports that United are keen to sign Asmir Begovic from Stoke City at the end of the season.

"I am very happy in Manchester," Goal.com quotes De Gea as saying. "Every day I am happier."

While the 22-year-old has been heavily criticised for a number of performances throughout the season, the shot-stopper received plenty of praise following last night's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round-of-16 encounter.
