Chelsea defender David Luiz is confident that Willian will stay at the club this summer, despite reported interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has said that he is confident compatriot Willian will stay at the club this summer.

Willian has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the current transfer window, with Barcelona and Manchester United understood to be leading the race for the winger.

Belgian duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are also expected to leave for Real Madrid this summer, but Luiz has expressed his desire to see all three stay in West London.

"I think that the press sell the players every single year. They buy players, they sell players," Luiz told reporters.

"I hope the trio can stay because they are fantastic players, fantastic talents and we need the best players in Chelsea.

"I speak to Willian almost every day, he loves to play for Chelsea. I think he's going to stay."

Willian made just 20 Premier League starts for Chelsea under Antonio Conte last season.
