David de Gea will seek a move away from Manchester United if Dean Henderson is granted the number one jersey for the 2021-22 season, according to a report.
The Spaniard lost his place as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's number one to Henderson during the latter stages of last season, although he was still given the nod for the Europa League final against Villarreal.
However, De Gea had an evening to forget as his missed spot-kick handed the Yellow Submarine the continental crown, and the emergence of Henderson means that his future is far from secure.
According to ESPN, De Gea will hold crunch talks with Solskjaer following the completion of Spain's Euro 2020 campaign, and he will look to advance his career elsewhere if Henderson is preferred to him.
The ex-Atletico Madrid man has been linked with a return to his former club, as well as local rivals Real Madrid, but he supposedly expects to be Solskjaer's number one heading into next season.
De Gea has kept 155 clean sheets in 441 appearances for Man United during a 10-year spell at the club, and his existing deal runs out in two years' time.
