Manchester United will not sell unsettled defender Matteo Darmian on the cheap in January, according to a report.

Matteo Darmian is reportedly keen to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window, but the Italy international will not be allowed to depart on the cheap.

Darmian was strongly linked with a move away from United during the summer, but injuries to Antonio Valencia and Diogo Dalot meant that the Red Devils kept hold of him.

The right-back has not played a single minute for United since the opening night of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, however, and his career with the 20-time English champions appears to be coming to an end.

According to the London Evening Standard, the 28-year-old - a 2015 arrival from Torino - is determined to seek a January exit, but United want at least £12.7m for the defender as they are aware of interest from Serie A.

Darmian's current deal with United will expire at the end of this season, although the club have the chance to trigger a 12-month extension.
