Manchester United are reportedly willing to make a "huge" loss on Casemiro this summer, with the 32-year-old attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to make a huge loss in order to offload Casemiro this summer.

The midfielder made the high-profile switch from La Liga giants Real Madrid two years ago, on a mission to finish his excellent career with success in England.

Casemiro has won the EFL Cup and FA Cup over the past 24 months under the stewardship of Erik ten Hag, although things have not always been smooth sailing.

The 75-time international was criticised heavily for his performances - especially as a centre-back - last term as the Red Devils slumped to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Casemiro's struggles in a United shirt meant that he missed out on selection for this summer's Copa America in the United States, where Brazil were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Uruguay.

Man United 'willing' to make huge loss on Casemiro

According to Football Insider, Casemiro's two-year stint at Old Trafford is highly likely to come to a conclusion before the end of the summer window.

The report claims that the Red Devils are actively seeking to offload the 32-year-old, whose abilities are waning, ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

It is understood that Ten Hag's side are willing to make a "huge" loss on Casemiro, who they signed from Los Blancos for £70m in August 2022.

With two years left on a lucrative deal at the Theatre of Dreams, the Brazilian is supposedly not in a massive rush to move on, meaning that a brilliant offer would need to arrive from elsewhere for him to leave.

No strangers to offering dwindling stars astronomical wages, clubs in the Saudi Pro League are said to be interested in making a summer swoop for Casemiro.

Man United's midfield landscape has changed

With Casemiro set to turn 33 during the middle of the 2024-25 term, it is no surprise that Man United are looking for a future without the five-time Champions League winner.

It is believed that certain coaches within the Red Devils' setup believe that the Brazilian's "legs have gone" and that he cannot keep up with the pace of the Premier League anymore.

Regardless of individual opinions on Casemiro, it is hard to argue against the idea that he has fallen down the pecking order significantly in the United engine room.

The emergence of academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo, who only last week started the Euro 2024 final with England, means that Ten Hag's troops are well-equipped to move on without the Real Madrid legend.
