Chelsea are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Villarreal defender Pau Torres as a potential target for the summer transfer window.

After making an impact for his La Liga club and Spain over the past 12 months, Torres was expected to move to a bigger club earlier this year.

While the 24-year-old eventually remained at Estadio de la Ceramica, he will inevitably continue to be linked with an exit during 2022.

According to 90min, Chelsea are the latest club to consider a formal approach for the centre-back ahead of the next two transfer windows.

Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva could both depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign, forcing Thomas Tuchel to contemplate his options in defence.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for Torres in recent months.
