Rafael Benitez refuses to discuss Real Madrid's 'interest' in David de Gea

Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez refuses to discuss rumours regarding the club's reported pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez has refused to be drawn on the latest rumours regarding the club's reported interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spanish shot-stopper has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants for some time, but with 13 days left to go until the transfer window closes, there has been no movement.

De Gea is yet to be included in a matchday squad for United as manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that he is not in the right frame of mind to play.

Latest reports have also suggested that the 24-year-old, who was named United's Player of the Year last season, is considering handing in a transfer request.

After Real's 2-1 friendly win over Galatasaray on Tuesday, Benitez was asked by reporters what the latest developments are with regards to De Gea, and the Spaniard replied: "Keylor [Navas] had a great game. I have very good goalkeepers. I'm delighted with all three of them and I'll be working with them to the full."

Sergio Romero has played in goal for United's three games of the season so far.
