Barcelona are still confident of signing Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez this summer, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly still confident of signing Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez during this summer's transfer window despite the intense competition for the Argentine.

Manchester United are believed to have joined the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City in the race to sign the 22-year-old ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Barca have long been linked with the South American, but a recent report claimed that the Spanish champions were struggling to come to an agreement with Inter.

Martinez has a €111m (£97.2m) release clause in his current deal at San Siro, but Barca are allegedly hoping to lower the price by including a number of players as makeweights.

According to Marca, despite the amount of interest in the striker, the Catalan giants are still confident of winning the race for his signature during this summer's transfer window.

Martinez has scored 25 times in 66 appearances for Inter in all competitions since arriving from Racing Club in July 2018, including 16 in 31 appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
