Barcelona are open to selling Pedri during this summer's transfer window due to concerns over his injury issues, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly open to selling Pedri during this summer's transfer window due to concerns over the midfielder's ongoing injury problems.

The Spain international suffered another hamstring problem during his side's La Liga contest with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Pedri has made 133 appearances for Barcelona since arriving from Las Palmas in the summer of 2020, scoring 18 goals and registering 12 assists in the process, but he has been unavailable for long spells due to a series of muscular problems.

The 21-year-old's longest absence came between September 2021 and January 2022, missing 41 games in total during the 2021-22 campaign, while he was absent for 15 matches last term and has already missed 19 fixtures in 2023-24 due to injury problems.

According to AS, Barcelona have not put a timeframe on Pedri's latest issue, as a lot will depend on the midfielder's recovery.

However, a recent report claimed that the Spaniard could be missing for the remainder of the campaign and also Euro 2024 if he is forced to undergo an operation.

Pedri is regarded as a key player for Barcelona, with the midfielder showing his ability over the last four seasons at the club, but there is allegedly huge concern at Camp Nou over his injury record.

The reigning La Liga champions have allegedly put a number of measures in place in a bid to help the youngster overcome his muscular issues, but he is still struggling to stay fit for extended periods.

Barcelona are reportedly 'conceding all scenarios' when it comes to Pedri's future, and a sale during this summer's transfer window has not been ruled out by the club.

The midfielder has little over two years left to run on his contract at Barcelona, and there have previously been suggestions of interest from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

Pedri is said to have a €1bn (£860m) release clause in his current deal, and it would still take a significant offer for the Catalan outfit to let him leave in the upcoming market.

Barcelona will be back in La Liga action at home to Mallorca on Friday night, with the team currently third in the table, eight points behind the leaders Real Madrid.

The Catalan outfit are also bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with Xavi's side level at 1-1 with Napoli ahead of the second leg of their last-16 affair on March 12.
