Barcelona make offer for Juan Mata?

Barcelona reportedly make a surprise move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.

Barcelona have made a surprise move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, reports from Spain suggest.

The La Liga leaders have enquired about bringing the 27-year-old to Camp Nou and are hopeful of agreeing a deal this summer, according to Don Balon.

United are said to be 'willing to listen' to any offers for Mata, who moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea for £37.1m in the January 2014 transfer window.

The Spaniard began his playing career with Real Madrid's youth team before a four-year stint at Valencia.

Mata was among the goals on Friday as United eased past Derby County in the FA Cup.
