Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that he held talks with the agent of Antoine Griezmann over a possible move to Camp Nou.
Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid in recent transfer windows, with Barcelona emerging as the favourites for his signature after a switch to Manchester United broke down last summer.
Atletico complained to FIFA over an alleged illegal approach from Barca for Griezmann in December, and Bartomeu has now confirmed that he spoke with his agent as early as October, but insists that his relationship with Atletico remains strong.
"I saw Griezmann one day on holiday. We met with his agent, yes. It was in October," he told RAC 1.
"We talk with [Atleti president Enrique] Cerezo about many topics. We have a good relationship with them."
Griezmann has a €100m (£87.9m) release clause in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.
