Arsenal and Manchester United will reportedly have to pay a €65m (£55.9m) release clause for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko during this summer's transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly learned the release clause of RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko ahead of the summer window.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a productive campaign in the Bundesliga this term, making the net ripple on 14 occasions and providing two assists in 31 league appearances.

Sesko's attacking antics have helped Marco Rose's troops towards another top-four finish in the German top flight, securing their place in next season's revamped Champions League.

The forward is set to have a busy summer regardless of transfer rumours circling over his head, with the Slovenian preparing to be the talisman for his nation at the European Championships in Germany.

Since making the switch from Leipzig's sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer, Sesko has made 42 appearances for the German outfit across all competitions, scoring 18 times.

Man United, Arsenal learn Sesko release clause?

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United and Arsenal have learned the release clause of Leipzig man Sesko ahead of the summer window.

The report claims that the Slovenia international will be available to purchase for €65m (£55.9m) during the upcoming trading point ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

It is understood that the release clause is performance-related, one which Sesko has triggered following an impressive term in front of goal in Germany.

The 20-year-old's contract at Leipzig expires during the summer of 2028, meaning that Rose's men are in no danger of losing the striker for cheap anytime soon.

It is also believed that AC Milan and Chelsea are keen on the signing of Sesko, however one club is said to be ahead of the rest in the pursuit of the player.

Arsenal 'leading the way for Sesko'

According to reports earlier in the month, title chasers Arsenal are currently leading the race for the services of Leipzig star Sesko this summer.

It is a badly-kept secret that the Gunners are looking to bolster their central-striking options, despite Kai Havertz performing admirably in the role over recent months.

There is also a need to replenish the attacking ranks, as the likes of Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe could be leaving the Emirates over the summer.

The two academy graduates could depart North London as Premier League champions, should Arsenal better Manchester City's result on the final day of the league season.
