Manchester United have already made two signings during this summer's transfer window, bringing in centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille.
The Red Devils are also determined to sign a new central midfielder in the current market, with Casemiro, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen all being linked with moves away from Old Trafford.
Kobbie Mainoo is certain to be a key part of the Man United team next season, and the club are seemingly keen to bring in a midfield partner for the England international.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at three midfielders who could potentially make the move to Old Trafford before the end of the summer transfer window.
Manuel Ugarte (Paris Saint-Germain)

Ugarte appears to be Man United's leading midfield target, and it is being reported that the Uruguay international has already come to an agreement with the Red Devils over personal terms.
Erik ten Hag's side will not play Champions League football next season, but that has allegedly not put Ugarte off, with the midfielder keen to make the switch to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old made 37 appearances for PSG last season following his arrival from Sporting Lisbon, while he has been capped on 22 occasions by Uruguay and represented them at this summer's Copa America.
PSG are thought to want as much as €70m (£59m) for the South American, but Man United are believed to be confident of negotiating that price down.
Ugarte looks like the perfect fit for the Premier League, and it would be another statement of intent from the Red Devils if they are able to secure his signature.
Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad)

Zubimendi was excellent off the bench for Spain in the Euro 2024 final against England, with the midfielder stepping effortlessly into the big shoes of Rodri when the Manchester City star went off injured.
The 25-year-old has been with Real Sociedad since 2011, making his first-team debut in 2019, and he has 187 senior appearances for the Basque outfit to his name.
Zubimendi has a release clause of around €63m (£53m) in his current deal, and Man United are believed to be keeping a close eye on the Spaniard, who is viewed as an alternative to Ugarte.
Barcelona and Arsenal are also known admirers of the midfielder, who has gained Champions League and Europa League appearances during his time in the Real Sociedad first team.
Adrien Rabiot (free agent)

Rabiot is now officially a free agent, having been unable to come to an agreement with Juventus over a new deal, and Man United are said to be one of the clubs keen on his signature.
Players of Rabiot's age (29) and ilk do not become available on free transfers too often, and a move to the Premier League is thought to be a serious possibility during the current market.
A 48-time France international, Rabiot has won major silverware in his home country and Italy, while he has more than 450 club appearances to his name at the highest level.
Rabiot was heavily linked with a move to Man United in the summer of 2022, but an agreement could not be reached on personal terms.
Interested clubs will no longer have to pay a transfer fee for the midfielder, though, and he could now finally be on his way to the Premier League.
