How Manchester United could line up against Everton

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture between Everton and Manchester United, Sports Mole looks at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could line up at Goodison Park.

Manchester United face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon having put together a seven-match unbeaten streak in all competitions.

As well as making progress in the FA Cup and Europa League, United have moved into fifth position in the Premier League standings.

Seven points from a possible nine, as well as three consecutive clean sheets, have been recorded from games with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea and Watford respectively.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could line up on Merseyside.

Having suffered a thigh issue in training earlier this week, Anthony Martial is regarded as a huge doubt for the meeting with the Toffees.

Providing that Solskjaer reverts to a 3-5-2 formation, Mason Greenwood and Odion Ighalo could be given an opportunity in attack.

With Bruno Fernandes expected to play in a more advanced role, Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay may get the nod over Fred in the defensive midfield positions.

While Eric Bailly again impressed on Thursday in the Europa League, Luke Shaw is expected to be preferred on the left-hand side of a back three.

That would allow Brandon Williams to feature at left-back, with the remainder of the defence likely to stay the same.

Paul Pogba is unlikely to come back into contention after an ankle injury until later in March.
