Darren Fletcher makes his first Premier League start of the season as Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has handed Darren Fletcher his first Premier League start of the season.

The Scotland captain, who has just recovered from a virus, will partner Anderson in central midfield.

For visiting Chelsea, Fernando Torres starts in a lone striking role.

Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata will provide Torres with support from either flank.

Man United: De Gea; Smalling, Evans, Jones, Evra; Nani, Fletcher, Anderson, Young; Rooney, Hernandez.

Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Meireles, Ramires, Lampard; Sturridge, Torres, Mata.
