Ryan Giggs urges Manchester United to keep faith with Jose Mourinho

Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United should stand by under-fire manager Jose Mourinho, despite their "tough" recent spell.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has warned his former club against sacking manager Jose Mourinho as they risk going back to square one.

Multiple media reports have suggested that the Red Devils may swing the axe during the upcoming international break, depending on Saturday's result against Newcastle United.

Results have been poor and Mourinho is said to have fallen out with a number of his first-team stars, leading to doubts over whether he is the man to take United forward.

Giggs believes that the Portuguese should remain at Old Trafford, however, telling reporters: "They're going through a tough time at the moment.

"I said that last time, where do they go? Change now and you'll be in the same position in a year or two years quite possibly. I believe he should keep his job."

Giggs was in attendance at Old Trafford in midweek as United drew 0-0 with Valencia - their fourth match without a victory in all competitions.
