Manchester United new boy Mason Mount could make his non-competitive debut for the club when they meet Leeds United in Oslo for their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
The ex-Chelsea man was plagued by a pelvic problem last season, but he has now made a full recovery and has been put through his paces at Carrington after completing a £60m switch from Stamford Bridge.
Lisandro Martinez has also made a full recovery from his foot injury, but Dean Henderson, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek remain out, and Erik ten Hag will still be without an abundance of international players too.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw - to name but a few - will only report back for training on Monday, and as such none of them should be involved in Norway as they get back up to speed.
However, Mount could operate in a midfield three alongside Fred, and the highly-rated Kobbie Mainoo could also earn a start in the engine room; Hannibal Mejbri is another youthful option.
Fresh from a successful loan spell at Sunderland, Amad Diallo should be given the chance to impress out wide, as Jadon Sancho and Under-21s forward Joe Hugill accompany the Ivorian in the attacking trident.
Further back, Alvaro Fernandez should take advantage of Shaw and Tyrell Malacia's international exploits, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka will expect to start on the right-hand side of the backline.
The fit-again Martinez and Raphael Varane could very well form a first-choice defensive pairing, while David de Gea's exit opens up a spot for Tom Heaton to start in goal amid Dean Henderson's lack of fitness.
Manchester United possible starting lineup: Heaton; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Fernandez; Mount, Fred, Mainoo; Sancho, Hugill, Diallo
