Ashley Young: 'I'm playing with a smile once again at Manchester United'

Ashley Young insists that he is not concerned about individual plaudits, instead wanting to focus on the performance of Manchester United's squad as a whole.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has admitted that he is savouring every moment of this season, having been shown plenty of faith by manager Louis van Gaal.

The 29-year-old has impressed under the Dutchman this season, going from Old Trafford outsider to one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Young played a key part once more in United's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, helping to create both goals as the Red Devils tightened their grip on fourth place.

"I'm enjoying my football, playing regularly," the Daily Mail quotes him as saying. "I want to play well and give my input into the team - I feel like I'm doing that. The penalty came from my cross and [Marouane] Fellaini scored from my cross. I'm delighted with that but it's a team game."

Young was also quick to praise goalkeeper David de Gea for his match-winning heroics up the other end of the field.
