Barcelona striker David Villa is reportedly expected to return to action in the Spanish giants' pre-season friendly against Manchester United.

The 30-year-old, who has been sidelined since December after breaking his leg, has experienced a number of setbacks on his road to recovery.

It is understood that the frontman will be on the team sheet for Barca's match against the former Premier League champions on August 8, according to Goal.com.

The two sides will face off in Stockholm as they prepare for their respective domestic seasons.
