Louis van Gaal has described the row surrounding the Wayne Rooney boxing video as "ridiculous".

A video of Rooney seemingly being knocked out by former teammate Phil Bardsley was leaked by The Sun on Sunday.

"I don't want to answer any questions [on that]," Van Gaal told reporters.

"I think it's a ridiculous world where we live that I have to answer questions. I don't have any comment. What is this world, twisted?"

Rooney scored in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and pretended to get knocked out during his celebration.
