Louis van Gaal: 'Leicester City can win Premier League title'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal suggests that Premier League leaders Leicester City could go on to lift the title this season.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has suggested that Leicester City could go on to win the Premier League this season.

The Foxes, who face United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, are currently top of the table after taking 28 points from their opening 13 games.

United are second, a point behind the East Midlands outfit and, when asked if he felt that Claudio Ranieri's side could win the title, Van Gaal told Reuters: "It is possible, I think.

"Normally these kind of clubs [like Leicester] can be a long time competing, but normally at the end it's more difficult.

"But in England because of the quality of the teams, because every team has the money to buy players - and they have bought players - the difference in the Premier League between the clubs in level is not so high."

Leicester won 5-3 when the sides met at the King Power Stadium last season.
