Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has claimed that Frans Hoek will be a success with his methods when he arrives at Old Trafford.
Hoek was appointed as the club's new goalkeeping coach when Louis van Gaal was confirmed as manager earlier this month, and Van der Saar believes that his fellow Dutchman will impress the players with his training exercises.
"He groomed me and helped me learn all the things I needed to know to be a successful footballer over a lot of years," the 43-year-old told reporters.
"Like Louis van Gaal, he's really exact with his exercises. They both put a lot of thought into the training sessions.
"He was one of the first guys I know who connected the goalkeepers with defenders and midfielders in terms of exercises."
Van der Sar worked with Hoek during his time with Ajax.
