Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are moving in the right direction following the January signing of Bruno Fernandes.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has said that "the signs have been very good" at the club since Bruno Fernandes's January arrival.

Fernandes has already made a notable impact during his short spell at Old Trafford, contributing two goals and two assists in his five appearances for the club so far.

The Portuguese midfielder's arrival has coincided with an upturn in form for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who are unbeaten in their last seven games having lost four of their previous seven before that.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton, Keane challenged United to kick on and earn Champions League football next season, in addition to winning the FA Cup and Europa League.

"I think the signs have been very good. Fernandes coming in has been big. They are building a bit of momentum," Keane told Sky Sports News.

"They are in a good position to get in the top four and win a couple of cups. In terms of Chelsea and Leicester, hunt them down. You look at where they have been in the last twelve months. The signs have been good in the last month or so. They have a cup game and Man City next week.

"I think they have a great chance [of making the top four]. Go after Leicester. They will get a couple of players back from injury. There is a lot more belief at the club and in Ole."

United could close the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to just one point with victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
