Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is adamant that his side need to respond to their defeat to Swansea City to keep themselves in the Champions League places.
United lost to Garry Monk's side for the second time this season on Saturday, despite taking the lead at the Liberty Stadium through Ander Herrera, as strikes from Ki Sung-yueng and Bafetimbi Gomis secured the win for the Swans.
Rooney has insisted that he and his teammates cannot afford to dwell on their loss and has demanded a response ahead of their next match against Sunderland at Old Trafford.
He told MUTV: "We need to hit back next week. There are still a lot of games to go and we have to bounce back from this quickly, go on another good run and try to keep us in a good position to finish in that top four."
Louis van Gaal's men dropped to fourth in the Premier League table following their defeat.
