Wayne Rooney believes that Liverpool will challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Wayne Rooney has tipped Liverpool to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Manchester United striker has been impressed with the Reds' summer signings and believes that Kenny Dalglish will get the best out of his squad.

"I think Liverpool will be challenging this time," said Rooney. "They have made some really good signings - British players - and under Kenny Dalglish, I am sure they will be fighting harder than they ever have done to be up there.

"They will think they have a chance of winning the title."

Rooney has been in prolific form this pre-season, including a 21-minute hat-trick against the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday.
