Micah Richards believes that Alex Ferguson's claim that Manchester City are Manchester United's 'noisy neighbours' has come back to haunt the manager after City beat United 6-1 at Old Trafford yesterday.
Goals from Mario Balotelli, David Silva, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero stunned a 10-man United in what some commentators are calling a 'new era' of English football.
"People call us the noisy neighbours but here we are," the right-back said. "We have a good set of lads and we want to show people what we can do.
"I think we did that today and it's what dreams are made of. We all know how good United are and how good they are at home, but they know about our attacking force - Balotelli, Dzeko, Aguero and Silva.
"To come to Old Trafford and win gives confidence, especially the way we won. We'll only go forward now."
City are currently five points clear of United at the top of the Premier League table.
