Pele: 'Sir Alex Ferguson is my coaching idol'

Brazil legend Pele describes Sir Alex Ferguson as his coaching "idol" after the Manchester United manager announced that he will retire at the end of the season.

Brazil legend Pele believes that Sir Alex Ferguson's achievements are unlikely to ever be surpassed.

Ferguson revealed on Wednesday that he would end his managerial career at the end of the season, and Pele has revealed that the 71-year-old is his 'coaching idol'.

The former Brazil international said on his official Twitter account: "Sir Alex, you were my idol for a coach, and you are an example for all future generations.

"Sir Alex, you are a legend and your achievements are unlikely to ever be surpassed."

The Scot will be leaving Manchester United after a 26-year spell at the club.
