Gary Neville slams "clueless" Christian Purslow for Manchester United criticism

Gary Neville slams Christian Purslow as a "clueless fool" after suggesting that Manchester United may never qualify for the Champions League again.

Retired Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has slammed former Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow for suggesting that the Red Devils may never get back into the Champions League.

The North-West outfit are unlikely to secure qualification to the elite European competition as they currently sit 11 points adrift of fourth in the Premier League table.

Following Purslow's comments, Neville tweeted: "Purslow 'United may never get back in CL if they miss out next season' What a clueless fool!!

"My Purslow logic- Liv will never win another title/Leeds down forever/oil dries up in Russia and UAE and United win every trophy for 50 yrs."

United are currently seventh in the standings with 12 games left to play.
