Jose Mourinho admits that next weekend's FA Cup final against Chelsea proved a distraction for Manchester United's players in their win over Watford.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confessed that it was "difficult" motivating his players for their Premier League meeting with Watford.

With second place wrapped up courtesy of their stalemate at West Ham United in midweek, and the title long out of the question, the Red Devils had little left to play for on Sunday.

In the end a Marcus Rashford tap-in 34 minutes into the contest gave United a 1-0 win against Watford, setting them up nicely for next weekend's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho admitted that it was not simple keeping his squad focused on the final day of the Premier League campaign.

"It was not an easy match because today we did not play for an objective," he told Sky Sports News. "The only one was to try to break the 80 points barrier.

"All the eyes are on the final next weekend. It was difficult to have the players focused and committed."

United won all 21 of their Prem matches this season when they scored first - just the second team to achieve that feat along with Portsmouth in 2007-08.
