Manchester United confirm appointment of Albert Stuivenberg to coaching team

Manchester United confirm the appointment of Albert Stuivenberg as Louis van Gaal's new assistant coach.

Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of new assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg.

Manager Louis van Gaal, who is currently preparing the Netherlands for their World Cup semi-final against Argentina in Brazil, has added to his coaching team ahead of his Old Trafford arrival.

Reports emerged over the weekend regarding the 44-year-old's appointment, but the Red Devils have officially confirmed that Stuivenberg will begin work with Van Gaal's number two Ryan Giggs immediately.

The Dutchman joins the former Premier League champions following a stint as the Netherlands Under-21 coach.
