Juan Mata has insisted that he has enjoyed his stint playing wide on the right for Manchester United.
The Spanish playmaker is regarded to be at his best in the No.10 position behind a lone striker, but United manager Louis van Gaal has favoured deploying Mata further out towards the touchline.
However, the 27-year-old has said that he has no issue with his current place in the starting lineup.
"I've really enjoyed it. Obviously I am not a winger, if you imagine an old school winger who is trying to play one against one and to cross the ball," he told the club's official website.
"I try to find my spaces from the right and cut inside and in behind and try to assist my teammates. I really enjoy it there. I think it's very important for us to create little triangles on the wings with myself and Matteo [Darmian] and then with the midfield.
"That's what the manager wants and we can play inside and outside. It's good for us to be able to create chances for the striker."
Mata has scored one goal from his eight outings in all competitions this term.
