Chelsea coach Marco Ianni reportedly apologised to Jose Mourinho for his wild celebrations during the Blues' 2-2 draw with Man United after the Portuguese confronted him.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly received an apology from Marco Ianni after banging on Chelsea's dressing-room door.

The Portuguese was provoked by Ianni in the immediate aftermath of Ross Barkley's last-gasp equaliser in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho revealed after the match that Maurizio Sarri's assistant apologised for his part in the ugly scenes, which will land him in hot water with the Football Association.

According to The Sun, the apology came as a result of Mourinho trying to confront Ianni away from the cameras, demanding to "speak to his face".

Ianni is said to have expressed his regret after Sarri acted as a peacemaker between the pair.
