Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood opens up on his journey from academy player to first-team regular.

Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and first-team coach Kieran McKenna have played "a major part" in his journey to the senior side.

Greenwood only turned 18 in October but has made 32 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2019-20 campaign, contributing 10 goals in the process.

The England Under-21 international has called his rise to the first team "mind-blowing" and was keen to pay tribute to Solskjaer and McKenna for their roles in his journey from the academy.

"It's mind-blowing really," Greenwood told MUTV. "Being in the Manchester United first-team dressing room and stepping out at Old Trafford. I can't explain it really. It's just amazing. You see me smile when I score. It's out of this world.

"I want to make my mark at the club and score as many goals as I possibly can. I want to win trophies at United, every young boy coming up from the academy does, so it would be amazing to get one of them soon.

"Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] is a major part. He has done it himself and knows what is he is talking about. Everyone listens to him. He helps me a lot. Obviously, Kieran [McKenna] as well. I was with him in my first season in the youth team and now he's with the first team."

Greenwood has contributed four Premier League goals this season, while he also netted four times in five appearances in the group stage of the Europa League.
