Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand: 'We need to stick together'

Rio Ferdinand insists that everyone at Manchester United need to 'stick together' following their defeat to local rivals Manchester City.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has insisted that unity is imperative at Old Trafford following Tuesday's defeat in the Manchester derby.

The Red Devils suffered their 10th loss of the Premier League campaign under manager David Moyes when local rivals Manchester City hit three goals at Old Trafford.

Following the defeat, a number of United fans have begun collecting money to arrange for a plane to fly over their home ground on Saturday carrying an anti-Moyes banner.

However, Ferdinand has taken to Twitter to insist that everyone at the club needs to stand by one another and work through their issues on the pitch.

He wrote: "Losing a game is something that I will never enjoy experiencing...sticking together & working hard to right the wrongs is a must."

Reports have emerged this week suggesting that there is plenty of disharmony within the United camp.
