Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has been in contact with Manchester United players via intermediaries, according to a report.

Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has reportedly been in contact with Manchester United players via intermediaries, as he continues to be strongly linked with the managerial role at Old Trafford.

The 52-year-old, alongside Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino, is believed to be the club's number one choice to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick at the helm this summer.

A recent report claimed that Man United had already 'sounded out' Ten Hag, with the 20-time English champions thought to be considering an official approach in the coming weeks.

According to The Times, Ten Hag has been asking the club's players about the squad via third parties, as he wants to gather as much information as possible.

The Dutchman has a contract with his current club until June 2023 but is believed to be keen to discuss a move to the 20-time English champions at the end of the season.

Ten Hag has won two league titles and two KNVB Cups since arriving at Ajax in 2017, while he is attempting to lead his side into the quarter-finals of this season's Champions League.
