Report: Memphis Depay wants to take number seven shirt at Manchester United

Manchester United's Memphis Depay reportedly wants to swap from the number nine to the number seven shirt this season.

Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has reportedly asked to be given the famous number seven shirt at the club.

The Dutchman has initially been handed the number nine shirt, taking over from Radamel Falcao, while Angel di Maria kept number seven.

However, Di Maria is on the verge of a move to Paris Saint-Germain, which has led to Depay asking to switch numbers, according to the Daily Mail.

The number seven shirt has previously been worn by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
