Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hinted that Bastian Schweinsteiger could struggle at Manchester United next season.
Bayern Munich announced on Saturday afternoon that the German World Cup winner is to join the Red Devils this summer.
Schweinsteiger is expected to become a regular in the United engine room next term, but Carragher has questioned whether the 30-year-old will fit in alongside Michael Carrick.
"Great player but at Bayern Munich he found it difficult to play alongside [Xabi] Alonso be interesting to see how he and Carrick works," he wrote on Twitter.
In response to being labelled bitter as a result of the high-profile capture, Carragher responded: "You joking? losing your best player (De Gea) & now signing a player past his best I couldn't be happier!"
The deal to bring Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford is thought to be worth in the region of £14m.
