Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has backed the Red Devils to learn from their mistakes of this season and win the Premier League next term.
United picked up just five points from a possible 15 at the start of the campaign in a run of form that now looks costly, with leaders Chelsea eight points ahead of them.
In third, Louis van Gaal's side are expected to achieve Champions League qualification, but Cantona says that the Dutchman will bring bigger and better things next season
"Sometimes you have a season when you have to lose games and you finish fourth, fifth. But it's a great club. It will be at the top of the table," he told reporters in Shanghai. "Next year, they can win the league.
"With a manager from Holland, it seems to be important for Manchester United, because it's the same kind of philosophy for the game: Holland and Manchester United."
Cantona helped the English giants to four successive Premier League titles during his five-year spell at Old Trafford from 1992 until 1997.
