Nemanja Vidic's agent compares his client's influence on Manchester United to that of Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Nemanja Vidic's agent has insisted that his client will not be leaving Manchester United in the summer, comparing the Serbian's influence on the club to that of Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

The United captain is currently recovering from a knee injury that has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

He has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and AC Milan in recent months, but Silvano Martina has claimed that the 30-year-old will not be leaving Old Trafford.

"Vidic for Manchester United is like Messi for Barcelona. How could you take him?," he told calciomercato.it.

"He's the United captain and a key player for Sir Alex Ferguson. A move next summer is absolutely not an option.

"The player is only thinking of recovering as soon as possible from his ugly knee injury."

Vidic's contract with United expires in 2014.
