Manchester United's Robin van Persie injury doubt for Queens Park Rangers match

Louis van Gaal reveals that Robin van Persie has a "minor injury" and could miss Manchester United's match against QPR on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that Robin van Persie is an injury doubt for this weekend's match against Queens Park Rangers.

The Dutchman suffered an ankle problem during the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford last Sunday.

As a result, the 31-year-old could miss the encounter at Loftus Road, but Van Gaal has insisted in today's press conference that it is just a "minor injury".

Radamel Falcao could come into the fold, but the Colombian's long-term future remains unclear after Van Gaal claimed that the on-loan striker needs to "prove himself".
