Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Watford

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League visit to basement club Watford.

Manchester United will look to extend their five-game unbeaten across all competitions when they face Watford at Vicarage Road in their final match before Christmas on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have won four and drawn one of their last five outings and could go six without defeat for the first time since February against the division's bottom side.

Watford showed significant signs of improvement in their first outing under Nigel Pearson last weekend, though, and will be looking for just their second win of the season going into Christmas.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Paul Pogba's recovery from an ankle injury took another twist earlier this week, with Solskjaer revealing that an illness has set his return back "quite a bit". Questions over the Frenchman's commitment to the club were raised after he was seen dancing at his brother's wedding just a couple of days before that, though, and it may now be that he does not play for the first team again until January.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Sunday's match will come too soon for Eric Bailly, but the centre-back is closing in on a return having missed the entire season so far with a knee injury.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: December 22 (vs. Watford)

Diogo Dalot is back in training and Solskjaer suggested earlier this week that he could feature at the weekend, having only narrowly missed out on a place in the squad to face Colchester United.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is still sidelined with the knee injury he picked up while on loan at Fulham last season, although he is now building his fitness back up and should return in the early stages of the New Year.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Burnley)

Marcos Rojo is another who is not too far away from returning from the muscle problem which has kept him out since November, but Sunday's match will come too soon for him.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this match, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one booking away from a ban.
