Manchester United have stormed into a 3-0 lead over the Los Angeles Galaxy at the halfway stage of their friendly meeting.
It was bright start from the touring side as Ander Herrera unleashed a powerful strike in just the second minute to force Brian Rowe to tip the ball over the crossbar.
The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute when Danny Welbeck scored the first goal of the Louis van Gaal era with a long-range effort which went past Rowe via the post.
United were in control for the majority of the first half, but they had to wait until the 42nd minute for their second of the night as Wayne Rooney slotted home a penalty moments after Baggio Husidic had handled inside the box.
Rooney then made it 3-0 with one of the final kicks before the interval as the England striker took advantage of a slip by Tommy Meyler to tap home.
