David de Gea 'not part of Manchester United squad to face Arsenal'

David de Gea will play no part in Manchester United's FA Cup fourth-round tie against Arsenal, according to a report.

David de Gea has reportedly been left out of Manchester United's squad for Friday evening's FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

The Spanish goalkeeper has returned to top form in recent weeks, producing a memorable performance on his most recent trip to North London by keeping out Tottenham Hotspur with 11 saves.

According to The Mirror, though, De Gea did not travel to the capital with the rest of his teammates on Thursday, implying that he has been left in Manchester.

Sergio Romero is therefore expected to get the nod in goal at the Emirates Stadium as the competition's two most successful sides lock horns.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will play a part in the fourth-round tie against his former side.
