Manchester United owners Joel and Avram Glazer are not willing to sell the club unless they receive a bid of £4bn, according to a report.

The Glazers will only consider selling Manchester United if they receive a bid of £4bn, according to a report.

The American family have been in control of the Red Devils since 2005, although brothers Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer have been heavily criticised over the years and were recently involved in the failed European Super League project.

Joel penned an open apology letter to supporters in the wake of the fiasco, but United fans nevertheless took to Old Trafford on Saturday evening to protest against the club's ownership.

However, The Mirror claims that the Glazers are not willing to relinquish their grip on the Red Devils, unless they receive an eye-watering £4bn bid.

The report adds that United's history, commercial pulling power and global fanbase makes such an extortionate price tag justified in their eyes, and there is no knowledge of any interested parties looking to buy the club as yet.

While Joel took responsibility for the club's involvement in the Super League, Avram reportedly refused to apologise as United withdrew from the tournament 48 hours after confirming that they had signed up.
