Chelsea Supporters Trust say in a statement that they are "appalled" by the European Super League plans that the Blues along with 11 other giants have agreed to.

Chelsea Supporters Trust have released a statement that demonstrates their frustrations towards the European Super League plans.

The Blues, along with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, have agreed to the potential breakaway competition.

UEFA, the Premier League and the FA have all condemned the proposal and Chelsea Supporters Trust have also opposed the plans their club have agreed to.

In a statement, the group said: "The Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST) continues to wholeheartedly oppose the creation of a breakaway competition to the Champions League. A 'Super League' would destroy open competition simply for financial gain.

"The CST is appalled that Chelsea FC (CFC) are among the rumoured teams to have signed up for this alternative competition and hope that these reports are untrue. This proposal would risk CFC from being banned from other competitions and could jeopardise the future of our club.

"The proposal demonstrates the greed within football and as supporters, we are tired of the of the beautiful game being abused. Enough is enough."

Tottenham's Supporters Trust have joined their London counterparts in raising concerns over the Super League: "The board of Tottenham's Supporters Trust is deeply concerned by rapidly escalating reports linking Tottenham with a breakaway European Super League.

"A concept driven by self interest as the expense of the values of the game we hold so dear."

The proposal from England's 'top six' clubs along with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona broke late on Sunday with UEFA expected to bring legal action against the move.
