Manchester United winger Nani insists that the club are taking the Europa League seriously.

Manchester United winger Nani has claimed that his side are looking to win the Europa League following their 2-0 win over Ajax last night.

United find themselves in the competition following a shock early exit from the Champions League, leading to doubts whether they would take the less prestigious Europa League seriously.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson chose a strong team to face Ajax, and Nani insists that the club are in it to win it.

"This is an important competition and we have to enjoy it," said the Portuguese winger.

"Of course, the Champions League is the most important trophy for everyone. It is the biggest trophy in Europe.

"But now we are here, we just think about this competition. The club has never won the trophy. Now we will try to do this."

Nani joined the English champions in 2007, making 186 appearances and scoring 35 goals in that time.
